THE DAY OF THE UNBORN, MAR. 31

 

            This represents a day to review and renew our commitment to LIFE     and especially the life of the unborn. It is unnecessary to speak to you of the evils of abortion and, if inconvenience could legitimize murder, where would society be?

            So, what is the answer?  Condemning the crime or punishing the offender has not done it. But, having a respect for life by respecting all of the living will make a difference. Having celebrated Jesus’ resurrection into un-ending life should remind all of us how much God loves sinners, even while hating their sin.

            Think of this when offended or troubled by another’s wrong doing. Prayerfully consider what you can do to bring dignity and respectability to that person. Reach out to those in need as Jesus reached out to us in need, if not be action, then, praying that God will help him or her.

Financial Secretary's Notes

Brothers, the grace period for the 2008 year is here and we have over 100 Members that are considered delinquent in the Knight of Columbus.  By being delinquent on your Dues some of the benefits of the Council will not be available to you such as the monthly newsletter.  Any Member who is considered delinquent will not be sent the newsletter, starting with the May issue, until his Dues are current. Do you want this to happen?????????  Second billings were sent out last week. Save your Council postage and get your Dues current.   You may send me the Dues Money or I am at the Hall on Tuesdays, mostly all day to receive the Dues Money.  Dues for a Regular Member are $25.00, and for an Honorary Member they are $6.00.   Remember when sending in your dues money please include an extra $5.00 for the “Take 5” Program.  This helps Charities throughout the state.  Honorary Life Members are Dues exempt but can still contribute to the “Take 5” program. 
Dues may be sent to me at, 2322 Delaware Blvd, Saginaw, Mi. 48602-5228.  Remember the Dues are being increased to $30.00 for a Regular Member and $10.00 for an Honorary Member for the 2009 year.  This starts in September, pay now and get this year’s rate.  If for any reason you cannot afford the dues money or are considered disabled, please let the Grand Knight or myself  know,  arrangements can and will be made.  We want to retain you as a Member.

Navigators Notes

                                          Sir Knights and Ladies

April is here and the snow birds are returning home.  I saw a robin Sunday and this morning the geese were flying to the North.  Spring is here another year.  May is the election time for the Assembly for all new officers.  This election will be held on May 20^th.  If you are interested in running for office please let me know.  So I can get my work done before the meeting.  Exempt March 31^st held in DeWitt, the assembly has to new members, Glenn Conroy and Clinton Loren.  Welcome to the 4^th degree.  The next exempt April 12^th in Grand Rapids, at this time we are still working hard to get new members to join us.  If you are interested in joining the 4^th degree see me or any on of the 4^th degree members.  We would be honored to have you in the Assembly.  e have set up the 4^th Thursday of each month to service VA, this month April 24^th will be the date.  We meet at the hall to car pool, at 6:00pm.  The bingo starts a 7:00pm and we return home right after.  If you would like to join us for a night of fun let me know.  Your help is all way welcome.  We have seven Sir Knight right now doing all this work.  To make this work we need more Sir Knights so the same brothers are not over worked.  Can you help out? I hope to see more Sir Knight at this month meeting.  There were only 14 present last month.  We need more help at the Tuesday morning Bingos.  I am looking for help there too.
