WHERE ARE WE GOING?

At Christmas we celebrated the birth of the Messiah, the promises of old were all fulfilled in Him. And now Jesus promises that whatever we ask of the Father in His name will be granted. If we really believe Him we no longer need to fear failure. So if we become concerned or fearful of the future, is that lack of faith in God, or in ourselves?
I wonder if we really believe God will take care of us as Jesus promised. When we become concerned about our health,
finances or happiness, we need to ask ourselves why? The saying is true: "We must work and plan as if everything depended on us; but, we can relax with confidence, knowing that all really depends on Him who can do all things. The problem may be that we do not like what He gives us, because God always gives us what we need, not necessarily what we want. Our spiritual needs are more important than our material.

Vivat Jesus,
Your Faithful Friar, FSC
